Born To Party

The beauty of Brazil is quite tantalizing, one can wonder how this great nation can do wrong? I have been here nearly two months and I still find this place wonderful, sometimes annoyed by the bureaucracy but that’s with government in the world. Brazil can be very inspiring, edge and daring. You find a lot of crazy stuff and not so crazy things. Like the way they celebrate people’s birthday, it is fun but I wouldn’t recommend if you don’t like flour on your face or eggs. Last night I went to a birthday party and I was out of my elements because I didn’t speak well Portuguese and I would have already drank a lot of caipirhina and had a great meal at home but since most South American people, they tend to eat dinner around 9 to 10 PM and people tend to start their party quite a bit late so I thought that eating some at home would be enough, clearly I have forgotten about that late dinner rule, so I got there fully stuffed and a bit sleepy, (too much drink), the sound and the party did wake me up. This party was somehow unique, it was unique in the sense that the owner owns a show bar, well not the ones that people takes off their clothes and dance but the ones that have people dancing folkloric music for foreigners to appreciate Brazilian culture. We were all merry and cheerful and when the clock stuck at 12, we sang her birthday song’s and cut the cake, eat some cake and then people were allowed to leave, not that we wanted to leave but it was time to go home and snuggle between my blankets because it was damn too cold for Brazil.
